Today, I'd like to talk about the most fitting wine on our list, the Banfi Bell'Agio Chianti. I say 'most fitting' because whenever I imagine wine in an Italian restaurant, this is what I think of. There is nothing better than pairing a nice, traditional chianti served in the classic wicker bottle with Chicken Parmesan or Spaghetti with Meatballs. Chianti, which is made from the Sangiovese grape, goes well with these types of dishes because the bold fruit of the wine stands up to the acidity of the tomato sauce to make both the food and wine taste better. This is one of my favorite chiantis for the price point - it is very smooth wine with light notes of cherry and cranberry.
